East Fork Carson River, Hot Springs

This trail starts south of Gardnerville, Nevada on US 395. At the turn off you’ll see a large water tank at the intersection of US395 and Leviton Mine Rd.

This trail is a little rocky in the beginning. The rocks are mostly the size of a soccer ball and spread out throughout the trail. I did not use lockers on any part of this trail. I did use 4×4 high, mostly to be able to disconnect my sway bars so I would bump around too much. A two wheeled vehicle will be able to make this trail.

There are some small water crossing before the hot springs, make sure you check with local restriction before crossing any water. Also, crossing any body of water is a risk you take, be smart and don’t get washed away. Before you hit the hot springs there are many different areas that look to be good camping spots. There is a meadow you can go through, if it rained earlier in the day you will see a lot of mud! There was some traffic when I went, mostly quads and side by sides. Be respectful when passing each other, the trail can get narrow in some places.

Overall, we had a great time. make sure you download the gpx to follow my tracks!
