Dayton, NV to Virginia City, NV via Sutro Tunnel Trail
This trail leaves Dayton, Nevada and takes you through the hills of the Comstock Lode, which was big in the 1800’s. Once at the top you’ll see amazing views and end up in downtown Virginia City, Nevada.
The Sutro Tunnel is on private property. DO NOT attempt to enter the tunnel or surrounding property without permission from the land owner. The trail we drove will take you around the property on BLM land. Find more information on the Sutro Tunnel here.
Take the time to enjoy the beautiful views, keep the trails clean, and respect other off-roaders. Below are pictures of the trail. You can download the GPX and use a GPS App or device to follow the same trail.

Rode the trail a couple times for the 4th of July 2020 celebration at Virginia City. Nice ride for SXS but a couple sketchy areas for the jeepers. Maverick gas station down the Hwy. fun trail will ride again to the bucket of blood saloon.

Were is the trail head for this? Looking at google earth it appears to be on the east edge of town. I would really like to give this onea run.
Its just above the Sutro tunnel area. remember the Sutro tunnel is private property! check out the gpx and open it on your phone for the same trail we took. thanks
Do you guys have a route from dayton cemetery to virginia city for SXS by chance?
If you can get from the cemetery to sutra tunnel, there might be some trails to connect the two locations. I haven’t explored it yet.
