Bishop, CA. Silver Canyon to Ancient Bristlecone Pines
This trail leaves Bishop California at Laws Museum and takes you through the White Mountains. These mountains have tons of old mine shafts, beautiful views and 5000 year old trees.
We went up Silver Canyon, which is an easy climb up to 1000+ feet above sea level. You will need a 4×4 with high clearance to safely make it to the top. This trail has many small water crossings and a steep shelf road.
At the top you find stunning views of the Owens Valley and are only a couple miles from ancient bristlecone pine trees. The official road to the bristlecone pine trees is a paved easy to travel road. If you go past the paved areas, you’ll find simple dirt roads. Please stay on marked trails, these areas are sensitive and destruction can close these areas from everyone.
